Description

After a day in the great outdoors, treat yourself to a relaxing movie! A comedy directed by F. Bentoumi with F. Gastambide and C. Mastroianni, a brilliant reflection on origins and social acceptance. Popcorn and drinks on site. English subtitles available on request. Synopsis
Samir and Stéphane, two friends from Grenoble, make top-quality competition cross-country skis, but their business is on the verge of bankruptcy when the Swedish athlete who was to compete in the Olympic Games on their skis decides to go with another manufacturer. Stéphane convinced Sam to take up cross-country skiing again and try to qualify for the Games in the colors of his father's homeland, Algeria. It's a huge challenge, and one that comes at the price of intensive training, as Sam, now well into his forties, is not as fit as he used to be. The Algerian federation has promised him a $20,000 grant towards his sporting expenses, which will give him the opportunity to return to Algeria and rediscover his roots and his family, as he doesn't even speak Arabic. The sporting challenge is immense, both physically and because the survival of the company depends on his success. His father, who has done everything in his power to ensure that his children succeed in France, believes in this, and is also preparing a wonderful gift for Sam: to give him all his olive trees back home so that one day, like him, he can become an active Algerian peasant proud of his ancestral values.
