When medalist Mark Schultz Olympic gold is invited by the wealthy heir John du Pont to move into her beautiful family property to help set up a high-end training camp, in the context of the 1988 Seoul Olympics Schultz jumped at the chance : he hopes to focus all his attention on his training and no longer suffer from being constantly overshadowed by his brother , Dave. Obsessed with obscure needs, Bridge intends to use its support for Schultz and his opportunity to "coach " world-class wrestlers for - at last - the respect of his peers and especially her mother who judge very hard .
Flattered to be the subject of so much attention from the Bridge , and dazzled by the opulence of his world , Mark sees in his benefactor a surrogate father , he constantly seeks approval . If it shows first encouraging Bridge, deeply cyclothymic , changes in attitude and pushes Mark to adopt unhealthy habits that may adversely affect his training.
